Where everybody has their own role and we all share the same goal.
Luciano has always been in charge of the wine cellar and he monitors the wine-making stages. Giacomo is constantly amongst the rows of his vineyards; he knows the story and the state of health of each and every plant, which he looks after along with his father, Olivo, the man behind the company. Maria, the mother, and sister Daniela spoil clients with refreshments, the spit and by preparing the packaging, which is all carefully made at home. That is why we don’t like to be defined as an industry, but we prefer to be defined as one of the few companies aiming to preserve the tradition of wine production, as it was passed down to us from our grandparents. We have brought modern wine-making techniques to the tradition which guarantee high qualitative standards, along with the professionalism of qualified oenologists. Come and visit us. We will make you feel at home and you can take a stroll through our vineyards which sit amongst breath-taking countryside.
We have been winemakers since 1890 and this makes us part of the oldest traditions in the area. There is evidence which shows that the Lorenzon family has been in the Valotai di Refrontolo borough since the second half of the 19th century. The cultivated vineyards are still the same and some trunks are more than a century old which are silent witnesses of our proud history. All the area between Vittorio Veneto and Valdobbiadene boasts a wine history of over two thousand years. Between erratic events, changes in power and some dark times, the only constant that has characterised these hills is the presence of the vineyards, and the production of high-quality wine bound for the tables of noblemen.
A change in pace took place towards the end of the 18th century when there was a real cultural revival of the wine industry. There were many agronomic initiatives such as establishing agricultural academies and schools, which reached a climax with the rise of the first wine school in Conegliano on 9th July 1876 under Royal Decree from Vittorio Emmanuele II, and in the same year by founding the Prosecco Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG.
Thanks to this decision in 2013 and 2014, our PROSECCO CONEGLIANO VALDOBBIADENE BRUT and the RIVE DI REFRONTOLO SUPERIORE DOCG were awarded with the prestigious red stamp at Merano, in 2015 they received the Silver Medal at VinItaly, amongst other many awards.
